How we work
How the research is done
What counts as evidence, what happens when there is not enough of it, and which two markets we cover. This is the part worth reading before you trust anything on the rest of the site.
Where a website fits
The numbers are the start. What you do about them is the point.
People search because they need something, or they have heard the name, or they read a review, or it is nearby, or the price is right, or they need it today. A website rarely creates that. What it decides is whether somebody who already wanted you ever reaches the price, the location, the opening hours or the booking form.
Demand
Why are customers searching?
Visibility
Which businesses are being discovered?
Experience
Why do certain websites earn trust?
Conversion
How easily does a visitor become a customer?
Being found
Can a search engine or an AI assistant understand this business?
Opportunity
What should your company improve, enter or develop?
What counts as evidence
We tell you what the numbers mean — and what they do not.
Everything we report says where it came from. Four kinds of information go into a study, and we never let one pass for another.
Observed evidence
Directly visible in a public or official source, with the source recorded.
Estimated demand
Search-volume and market indicators, on a stated methodology.
RS Research assessment
What we make of the design, how the site is to use, how well it answers, who the competitors are, and where the opening is.
Client data
Your own analytics and sales figures, when you provide them.
Malaysia, in both directions
Two directions, one set of research.
Malaysian businesses selling abroad
Which products, which countries, which marketplaces. We score how ready a company is to export, show the gap between what it can make and where it actually sells, and name what would close it.
Companies coming into Malaysia
Whether Malaysia is the right market, who already holds it, what buyers here expect, and what getting in would really take.
Provenance
Where the numbers come from
Every figure on this site is read out of a record, and every record names the source it came from. Sources are graded before they are used, and the grade travels with the finding.

1
Evidence grades in use
Graded A to E before anything is built on them.
1
Countries covered
By the source’s own jurisdiction, not by where we read it.
Government, regulator, central bank, stock exchange, official statistics. Published under a name that can be held to it.
A source is graded and its terms are checked before anything is built on it. Where evidence is thin, the brief says so instead of filling the gap.
