RS RS RESEARCHMarket Intelligence

How we work

How the research is done

What counts as evidence, what happens when there is not enough of it, and which two markets we cover. This is the part worth reading before you trust anything on the rest of the site.

The RS Research chain

Data is only the start. RS Research explains what to do with it.

Consumers search because of need, brand, reviews, location, price, urgency or a distinctive experience. Design rarely creates that demand — it shapes the first impression, while the experience decides whether a visitor ever reaches the menu, the price, the location, the availability, the quotation or the booking.

1

Demand

Why are customers searching?

2

Visibility

Which businesses are being discovered?

3

Experience

Why do certain websites earn trust?

4

Conversion

How easily does a visitor become a customer?

5

AEO

Can search and AI systems understand the business?

6

Opportunity

What should your company improve, enter or develop?

RS Research Standard

We show you what the data means — and what it doesn't.

Every claim RS Research makes carries its classification. Four kinds of information go into a study, and they are never presented as the same thing.

Observed evidence

Directly visible in a public or official source, with the source recorded.

Estimated demand

Search-volume and market indicators, on a stated methodology.

RS Research assessment

Our analysis of UI, UX, AEO, competitors and opportunity.

Client data

Your own analytics and sales figures, when you provide them.

RS Research does not represent estimated search volume as unique customers, or public visibility as a company's actual website traffic. Where the evidence is thin, a RS Research study says insufficient evidence and names what would resolve it. A blank is never reported as a zero.

Malaysia ⇆ Global

Two directions, one intelligence engine.

Malaysian companies going out

Which products, which markets, which marketplaces. RS Research scores export readiness and the gap between what a company can make and the reach it actually has — then names what would close it.

Foreign companies coming in

Whether Malaysia is the right market, who already holds it, what consumers expect, and what entry would actually require.

Provenance

Where the numbers come from

Every figure on this site is read out of a record, and every record names the source it came from. Sources are graded before they are used, and the grade travels with the finding.

Sources named here

1

Evidence grades in use

Graded A to E before anything is built on them.

1

Countries covered

By the source’s own jurisdiction, not by where we read it.

Tier A — Authoritative 1 source

Government, regulator, central bank, stock exchange, official statistics. Published under a name that can be held to it.

A source is graded and its terms are checked before anything is built on it. Where evidence is thin, the brief says so instead of filling the gap.
